Air Products announced its plans at the 2024 Canadian Hydrogen Convention to build two new and permanent hydrogen fueling stations along the Edmonton-Calgary corridor. Following the announcement, Edmonton Global’s Chris McLeod sat down with Rachel Smith, Air Products Vice President and General Manager Canada, to discuss what this announcement means and the impact this project will have on accelerating the decarbonization of the commercial transportation sector.
The two cover everything from the unique advantages hydrogen vehicles can offer Canadians, to the importance of consumer confidence, to the future of hydrogen vehicles in Canada. Air Products said that these hydrogen fueling stations along the Queen Elizabeth II highway in Alberta will be filled through Air Products net-zero energy complex, currently under construction in the Edmonton region.
